Creating video content is one of the best ways to connect with your ideal clients, but let’s be honest—coming up with what to say can feel like a major roadblock.
You may have plenty of topics floating around in your head, but when it’s time to hit record, suddenly you’re second-guessing everything. Where do you start? Which topic should you tackle first? How do you structure your video?
The good news? AI can help.
In this post and the video above, I’ll walk you through how to use AI to generate video topics and write clear, engaging scripts that align with your brand and attract the right audience. Plus, I’ll share a free AI prompt cheat sheet so you can copy, paste, and customize these prompts for your own business.
Step 1: Use AI to Brainstorm Video Topics
If you’re ever stuck wondering “What should I talk about?”, AI can help you generate content ideas that are directly relevant to your clients.
Start With Your FAQs
Your best video topics come from the questions your clients ask you the most. If clients are asking about inflation, market volatility, required minimum distributions, or tax-saving strategies, that’s exactly the content you should be creating.
But that’s often easier said than done and doesn’t always create the most interesting content, so let’s bring in our good friend, AI.
Use an AI to Create a Video Content Matrix
One of my favorite AI starting points is creating a video content matrix to generate a list of video topics. Here’s how:
- Open ChatGPT (or your preferred AI tool like Claude, Gemini, or Perplexity).
- Copy the prompt from the cheat sheet below.
- Be sure to fill in the key items highlighted in red. The more detail the better.
- Don’t forget to include your three key content buckets at the bottom — e.g. estate planning, stock options, tax planning, retirement planning, etc.
💡 Example Video Content Matrix for a Financial Advisor Serving Pilots:
Pretty impressive, right?
You’ll also note that there are four types of content to help you better attract, connect with, and nudge your ideal audience into action.
- Evergreen Content
- This content will be just as relevant in a year or three as it is today. This should be the majority of your content.
- Non-financial Content
- This content often performs the best and is the most effective at attracting your ideal clients.
- Timely Content
- This helps to show your expertise and that you’re on top of the topics that are most relevant to your target clients.
- Promotional Content
- This will be your smallest bucket of content, but it’s important to let people know that you’re a professional, qualified financial advisor who can help them.
This approach gives you a clear roadmap of video topics that align with your expertise and ideal client.
Step 2: Use AI to Write a Video Script
Now, choose whichever topic jumps out at you and let’s use AI to draft a video script that feels natural and engaging.
- Grab the scripting prompt from Step 3 on page 3.
- Note – you should absolutely play around with Steps 1 and 2 as well!
- Adjust it for the length of video you’d like to create.
- Copy and paste the title of the video you’d like it to create a script for from the video content matrix.

💡 Topic: 5 Overlooked Tax Deductions for Private Pilots [Note: not reviewed for accuracy]
🎥 Opening Hook (the most important part of your video – after your title and thumbnail!)
Did you know you might be overpaying on taxes by thousands just because you’re not using the right deductions? If you’re a private pilot earning over $200,000 and own an aircraft, you could be missing out on serious tax savings. Let’s fix that.
1. Aircraft Depreciation
Most pilots know they can write off some expenses, but did you know you can depreciate your aircraft over time? If you use your plane for business—even occasionally—you may qualify for accelerated depreciation, slashing your tax bill this year.
2. Fuel and Maintenance Costs
Keeping your plane in the air isn’t cheap, but if you use it for business travel or rental, fuel, repairs, and even hanger fees could be deductible. The key? Proper documentation. I’ll show you how to track it correctly.
3. Pilot Training & Certifications
If you’re taking courses to maintain or upgrade your pilot’s license for professional use, those expenses might be deductible. That includes flight simulator time, continuing education, and even some travel costs for training events.
4. Aviation Insurance Coverage
Your aircraft insurance might be deductible if your plane is used for business purposes. And beyond that, specialized policies—like liability coverage or loss-of-license insurance—could qualify for tax advantages most pilots overlook.
5. Travel & Per Diem Expenses
If you’re flying to meetings, business events, or rental opportunities, you might be able to deduct lodging, meals, and even per diem allowances. Many pilots don’t realize these rules apply to them—but when done correctly, it’s a game-changer for tax efficiency.
🛑 Closing CTA (Call to Action):
That’s five overlooked deductions that could be saving you thousands each year. But here’s the thing—every pilot’s situation is different, and maximizing your tax savings requires a tailored strategy.

AI-generated scripts like this give you a structured flow while ensuring your video is engaging, specific, and focused on your audience’s needs.
Step 3: Customize Your Script for Different Styles
Your AI-generated script is just a starting point—you can tweak it to match your personality and delivery style. Here are some ways to refine your script:
1. Add Storytelling for a More Engaging Hook
Instead of jumping straight into the content, use a story-based introduction to draw viewers in.

📝 New Script Opening
A few years ago, I worked with a pilot—let’s call him Mike. Mike and his wife own a beautiful Cirrus SR22, and like many of you, he assumed he was doing everything right when it came to taxes. That was until tax season rolled around, and his CPA delivered the bad news—he owed way more than he expected.
Frustrated, Mike told me, “I feel like I’m paying more in taxes than I am on fuel, and that’s saying something!” Sound familiar? If you’re a pilot earning over $200K and you own an aircraft, you might be leaving thousands on the table.
Mike’s mistake? He wasn’t leveraging the tax benefits available to him as a pilot and aircraft owner. And he’s not alone—most pilots I talk to miss out on thousands in deductions every single year, simply because they don’t know they exist.
Here’s the key insight: if you use your aircraft for more than just personal joyrides, the IRS may see it as a business asset—and that unlocks some serious tax advantages.
Let’s break down five of the most overlooked deductions so you don’t make the same mistake Mike did…
Same topic, same ideal clients, same AI tool, completely different output.
💡 Pro tip: Talk to your AI tools exactly the same as you would to a human employee. If they miss the mark, provide feedback and direction. Humans don’t always get it right. They need guidance, and so does AI.
If you’d like your script to add humor, wit, analogies, or be more serious, tell it. It’s incredibly adaptable.
2. Format It for a Teleprompter
If you use a teleprompter, first use AI to adjust the layout to make it easier to read on-screen.
Not sure what a teleprompter is or if you should be using one? Check out my post on Why Financial Advisors Should Use a Teleprompter here.
📝 Example Prompt:
- Please reformat it for use in a Teleprompter. Please make the spacing and punctuation laid out so that as I read it in the Teleprompter, it comes across naturally.
By adding pauses and breaks, AI makes it easier to read naturally while recording.
Keep an eye out for an upcoming video on how best to use scripts.
Step 4: Use AI to Create a 60-Second Version for Shorts & Reels
Short-form videos are huge for engagement on YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and Instagram Reels. AI can condense your script into a punchy, 60-second version perfect for these platforms.
📝 Prompt
- Condense this script into a compelling 60-second version.
🎬 Short-Form Video Example:
Mike, a private pilot like you, was shocked when he got his tax bill—he was overpaying by thousands. Why? Because he wasn’t taking advantage of key deductions available to aircraft owners. If you’re a pilot earning over $200K, you might be making the same mistake.
Here are five overlooked deductions that could save you big:
- Aircraft Depreciation – If you use your plane for business, you can write off a portion every year.
- Fuel & Maintenance – Business-related flights? Those costs may be deductible.
- Pilot Training – If it’s required for your work, you might be able to deduct it.
- Aviation Insurance – Liability and hull coverage? You could be writing it off.
- Business Travel Expenses – Flights, lodging, even meals—if it’s for business, it counts!
Mike saved over $14,000 once he started using these deductions. Want to see how much you’re leaving on the table? Book a free tax strategy session today—link below!
